ugusta Jefferson was a gentle and faithful soul whose life reflected grace, perseverance, and unwavering love. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a man whose heart was anchored in faith. Those who knew Augusta knew a man who carried quiet strength, deep compassion, and a spirit that sought peace and understanding in all things. Augusta was blessed to share a loving marriage with his beloved wife, Mary Jane Jefferson, whose love and partnership sustained him throughout life’s journey. Together they built a home rooted in, laughter, and shared faith — a place where family was cherished and love was always present. He leaves behind to honor his life and legacy his children, Tonya Jefferson, Tanya Jefferson Baffield, along with Donald Jefferson, Vivian Gail Jefferson Smoot, and Denise Jefferson Seals, each of whom held a special place in his heart. Augusta’s love for his family was constant, and his guidance, kindness, and prayers will continue to echo through generations. Augusta was preceded in death by his beloved wife Mary Jefferson, his brother Robert Patterson, and his sister Vera Patterson. Though they have gone before him, their reunion in heaven brings comfort to those left behind. He also leaves to cherish his memory his loving sister, Willie B. Allen, 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 19 great-greatgrandchildren, and a host of dear relatives and lifelong friends who were blessed by his warmth, wisdom, and gentle spirit. Augusta walked this life with humility and trust in God. He believed that every season, both joyful and difficult, was part of a greater purpose. His faith was not loud, but it was strong — a steady presence that carried him through trials and triumphs alike. He had a quiet way of encouraging others, reminding them that God’s grace is always near, even in moments of sorrow. Though we mourn his passing, we take comfort in knowing that Augusta has been called home to eternal rest, where there is no pain, no sorrow, and no more tears. His spirit lives on in the hearts of those who loved him and in the many lives he touched with kindness and wisdom. “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want…” May Augusta Jefferson now walk in green pastures and rest in everlasting peace.
