Clarence James Mitchell Sr.

Clarence Mitchell was born September 1st, 1962 to parents Clarence and Delores Mitchell who preceded him in death in Chicago, Illinois. He was the only child of their union. Affectionately known as Skeeter. Received Christ at an early age while attending Antioch Baptist Church South. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where he was very excited to be a part of the church choir. Attended Chicago Vocational High School Class of 1980 and Devry University class of 84 . Clarence married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Crystal Williams, in 1980. To this union, two sons were born: Clarence Mitchell; and Calvin Mitchell (who preceded him in death) At a young age Clarence worked alongside his father with the family trucking company. Later worked in tech at Motorola and then became the head of the family trucking business 'Mitchell's Moving and Hauling". Life accomplishments include, Associates degree from Devry University and a successful trucking company passed down from his father. Clarence was a people person who never met a stranger. He had a heart of gold and would strike up a conversation with anybody, any and everywhere. . He had a very friendly manner about himself. He was the life of any party and kept people laughing as the family comedian. He loved to dance and listen to "Old Skool" music. Clarence enjoyed hanging with family, going out to eat, attending church, singing in the choir, enjoyed aid and assisting his neighbors and truly loved his neighborhood. Sayings include " I can't handle no act right" "I'm a man before I'm anything, "TRUE DAT", " you ain't new to it you true to it", "Let me expound" "Ian mean no harm". Clarence will be missed most for his outgoing personality, smile, and helping hand. Clarence leaves to cherish his memory his son, Clarence Jr; his loving ex-wife, Crystal; his grandchildren, Chris, Devon, Camya, Dayshon whom he loved and cherished very deeply. Clarence is also survived by his half siblings Gale, Priscilla, Clarice, Barbara Jean, Suzette, Marilyn, Gary, Cynthia, Clarence Jr. and his Auntie Noy, his backbone and big brother/cousin, Wyvell Cooley, a special cousin/sister, Sharon Whalum, and a host of many cousins and friends.
