Lizzie Williams

Lizzie Williams entered this world on October 15, 1932, to the late Reverend Cebron Allen Sr. and Georgianna Allen in Vance, Mississippi. Lizzie was 1 of 10 children born into this union. Lizzie was raised in a Christian household and gave her life to Christ at an early age. Lizzie attended school in Vance, MS and she later met and married the late Elijah Russell. They moved to Chicago, IL and started their family. Three children (Mattie, Synthia, and Ray) were born to this union. Lizzie was employed by SOLO Cups for many years. Lizzie later worked for the Board of Education until she retired. Lizzie was a faithful member of Greater Mt. Hebron Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor E.F. Ledbetter Jr. Lizzie later joined Holy Covenant Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Emeritus Otis F. Allen, until he retired and handed the throne to Pastor Calvin F. Allen Sr. Lizzie served as Sunday School Teacher, Trustee Board Member, Choir President and Missionary. Lizzie was faithful in all her endeavors in Christ until her transition. Lizzie was a righteous warrior who was dedicated to Christ, her children, family and friends. Lizzie was always there for everyone in a time of need. Lizzie taught the gospel from her own home and lived by the word. She was a true example of a God-fearing woman. Lizzie was known for her cooking. Specifically, her greens, mixed peas, and dressing. The list could go on. Lizzie made her transition from this world to her eternal home on January 14, 2026. Lizzie is preceded in death by her daughters: Mattie Russell and Synthia Weislo (Eddie-living), one grandson, Andre Russell; four brothers: Joe Allen Sr., Cebron Allen Jr., Alune Allen Sr., and Charlie Allen; three sisters-in-law: Cora Allen, Ophelia Allen, and Nellar Allen. Lizzie leaves to cherish endless memories: one devoted son: Ray Russell Sr. (Beverly) of Chicago, IL; four grandchildren: Jennifer Greenlee, Ray Russell Jr., Robert Tolbert, and Jessica Marshall (Alex), one bonus grandchild, Kendahl Ringo, ten great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; three sisters: Sarah Harmon (Joe), Bertha Toliver (Tommie Sr.), Deola Shaw; one sister-in-law, Bessie Allen. A host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
