Truephelia Hall

Truephelia Hall, known as Mommadamma, was born on August 2, 1941, in Tchula, Mississippi. Truephelia was the only child of her mother, Arbell Randle. She was one of nine children born to Frank Jackson Sr. She shared a special bond with her siblings: Mildred Smith, Betty Tyrus, Raymond Jackson, Frank Jackson Jr., Herrin Jackson, Laura Jackson, Mary Patman, and Chiquita Jackson. One brother, Frank Jackson Jr., preceded her in death. Her early childhood years were spent in Tchula, Mississippi, where she graduated from Mileston Vocational High School in 1960. The year 1960 was a momentous year for Truephelia; she met and married her childhood sweetheart, Clifton Hall Jr. After moving to Chicago, Truephelia briefly attended Kennedy-King College before embracing one of the most cherished roles of her life: motherhood. They later had seven children. She devoted herself to raising her children with love, strength, and unwavering care. She worked and retired at Ada S. McKinley as an Activity Director. Truephelia Hall professed Christ at an early age and was baptized and became a member of Zion City MB Church in Tchula, MS. She loved God. After she moved to Chicago, she attended Smith Temple Missionary Baptist Church. Truephelia found great joy in being a financial blessing to others. She believed that giving was an expression of love and was always willing to share what she had with those in need. Whether offering a helping hand or providing financial support. She had a passion for making money through hard work and determination. Truephelia operated a thrift store in front of her home, where she sold affordable items while often giving away clothing, household goods, and other necessities to anyone who needed them. Her thrift store was a place of community. Truephelia Hall was deeply devoted to her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her life. She had a creative spirit and found great joy in writing plays, songs, and short stories. She was known for her beautiful penmanship and stunning rings. Truephelia cherished time spent with her family and especially enjoyed everybody coming together. Family gatherings were filled with laughter, smiles, and precious memories and moments that she treasured. She looked forward to her soul food dinners every weekend. Truephelia was preceded in death by her Husband, Clifton Hall Jr., and her two daughters, Sonja and Latonya Hall. Truephelia Hall leaves to mourn in her homegoing: Daughter Barbara Hall-Willis (Pastor Leo Willis), Son- Clifton Hall (Eleanor Hall), Son-Jesse Hall (Tawanna Hall), Son-Clifford Hall (Latissa Scott), Son-Clifton Johnson (Bridgette Johnson) and Son-Leo Hall, and a host of grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
