Brandee N. Taylor

On August 9, 1985, a beautiful soul entered the world when Brandee Taylor was born in Chicago, Illinois to Eddie "Lois" and Hiawatha Taylor. Brandee was the second child of Eddie "Lois" Taylor and the cherished little sister of Sean Williams. Although there was a 15-year age difference between them, Brandee adored her big brother from the very beginning. As a little girl, she followed him everywhere she could, looking up to him with admiration and love. She was fiercely protective of him and never hesitated to let everyone know he was her big brother. Brandee was absolutely thrilled in 1994 when her big brother Sean and sister-in-love Stephanie birthed a son - DeShaun Williams - Brandee embraced and adored her nephew DeShaun from his birth and was always supporting and encouraging him through life. “Auntie Bee” as she was affectionately called babysat DeShaun countless weekends and became his trusted friend and confidante as they grew older and their 9 year age difference cemented their friendship similar to that of siblings. In addition, Brandee had two brothers and one sister - Willie Colbert III, Duan Colbert, and Camille Colbert - who loved her dearly and she loved in return. Brandee and Camille shared a special sisterly bond - they were close friends, confidantes and shopping buddies. Brandee was genuinely fond of her additional nieces and nephews, especially Antwain Avery Jr. and cousin Derrick Wright both of whom she babysat often as well. Brandee had a deep, abiding and personal relationship with God - she was very grateful for God's grace and providence in her life. From an early age, Brandee displayed remarkable intelligence and determination. She attended Bradwell Elementary School, where she earned the distinguished honor of class valedictorian. She continued her education at Hyde Park High School, graduating with the same perseverance and commitment that would define her throughout life. Brandee dedicated nearly nine years of service to Restaurant Associates at Google, where she became known not only for her exceptional customer service and hospitality but also for the genuine relationships she built with those around her. Her warm spirit, infectious personality, and ability to make people feel welcomed left a lasting impression on coworkers who became lifelong friends. She had a gift for making every interaction meaningful, and her presence brightened the lives of many. Outside of work, Brandee embraced life with passion and authenticity. She had a deep love for music- her favorite artists were Mariah Carey and Aaliyah. Brandee enjoyed shopping—especially for her beloved Jordans and limited-edition Goorin Bros. hats. Brandee rarely missed a chance to watch the WNBA, NBA, or professional wrestling. Brandee also had a fascination with astrology, always eager to share her thoughts and unique perspective. Anyone who knew Brandee knows that conversation came naturally to her. Brandee could talk for hours, captivating those around her with her quick wit, sharp tongue, and remarkable insight. Brandee had a way of saying exactly what was on her mind, often beginning with one of her signature phrases: “Word.” Or, when she was about to make an important point, “Here’s the thing…” Those simple words became part of who she was and will forever echo in the hearts of those who loved her. Brandee found purpose through the social club community, where she built lifelong friendships and made an unforgettable impact. In her most recent club, she proudly served as Vice President, earning the love and respect of everyone who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside her. Her commitment extended beyond fellowship, as she actively participated in community service and charitable events, including Breast Cancer Awareness initiatives. These efforts held a special place in her heart as she honored her mother, Lois, a courageous breast cancer survivor whose strength inspired Brandee throughout her life. Even before joining the social club community, the friendships she formed stood the test of time, a testament to the genuine love and loyalty she gave so freely. Brandee leaves a legacy of laughter, loyalty, strength, and authenticity. She was someone who loved deeply, spoke honestly, and lived unapologetically as herself. Brandee leaves behind memories that will forever bring smiles, laughter, and comfort to those fortunate enough to have known her. Though her earthly journey has come to an end, Brandee’s spirit lives on in every story shared, every laugh remembered, every song played, every game watched, and every heartfelt conversation that began with, “Here’s the thing.” Brandee was preceded in death by her mother Eddie "Lois" Taylor, her father Hiawatha Taylor, her brothers Sean Williams and Willie Colbert III, her dear grandmother Alma King, her uncle James King, and her stepfathers Willie Colbert and Clifford Pike. Brandee leaves to cherish her memory her beloved nephews DeShaun Williams and Antwain Avery Jr. , her remaining siblings Duan and Camille Colbert, and a host of family and friends.
