Willie Rean Sanders

Wille Rean Sanders was the second of five children born to John and Rosie Sanders on September 09, 1952, in Yazoo City, Mississippi. She accepted Christ at an early age under the pastorate and leadership of Rev. J.E. Bert at New Foundation Missionary Baptist Church. She served as a Junior Secretary of Sunday School. Rean attended Montgomery Elementary School and Montgomery High School in Louise, Mississippi. While in school, Rean served in many capacities: Secretary of the Yearbook committee, majorette in the marching band, and a member of a variety of other clubs within the school. Upon graduation, Rean matriculated to Alcorn State University where she majored in Elementary education and graduated in 1974. Rean moved to Chicago and began her career as an educator with Chicago Public Schools in the ministry of teaching and leadership for 34 years. Rean continued her education; she attained a Master of Arts Degree from National Lewis University in Evanston, IL. and a Master of Arts Degree in Administration and Supervision from Roosevelt University in Chicago. IL. This path enabled her to move up the ranks from teacher to Mentor Teacher for Chicago, Assistant principal (John Hope College Prep), Assistant principal (Arai Middle School), Assistant principal (Randolph Magnet School) Assistant principal (Lindblom College Prep), Principal (Lindblom College Prep) and Adjunct Professor National Lewis University. Rean sought out daily to ensure others were taken care of. She was selfless, caring, kind, loving and understanding. She touched so many lives throughout her years. She was a phenomenal daughter, amazing sister, awesome aunt, devoted niece, and loving cousin. Rean will be remembered as a strong woman of faith. She blessed and changed lives daily. Rean leaves to cherish her memories: her mother, Rosie Sanders, her brother, John (Barbara)Sanders, her sister, Jacqueline Sanders all of Chicago, IL., aunts: Louella McCallum (Herman), Walterine Carlvin, Katie Dumas, Betty Wilson all of Chicago, IL., Lillie Winston (Marvin) of Meridianville, Alabama, Lola (Letroy} of Gary, Indiana, uncle: M.C. Sanders of Chicago, IL. Three nieces: Keyisha Watson of St. Louis Mo, Sherronda Sanders of Ozark, Alabama and Kayla Sanders-Harris (Charles) of Vicksburg Mississippi, Nephews: James Sanders of Ozark Ala, Anthony Rush – Sanders of Yazoo City, Ms, Chad Sanders (Khadejiah) of Sidney, Ohio. Two Great Nephews: Dallas Craddieth and Darius Watson of St. Louis, Mo and host cousins and friends. Preceding Rean in death are her father John H. Sanders Sr., and her brothers: Henderson Sanders and Willie Sanders. Finally, Rean work is done, her purpose is fulfilled. Rean is now swaying like a beautiful palm tree in the permanently perfect breeze of heaven as she “dances with her father again.”
